Is death all that bad?
by Shelly, 15, female

April 8, 2010

Dear Diary,

I'm not hear to try and kill myself or attempt suicide if that's what u think, but have u ever wondered what it would be like to die? I always wonder if I died right now, what would happen. Would my family simply weep and move on? Would the boy I like give a care in the world? Would my best friend go crazy, or would everyone move on?
I'm not sure why I think of death sometimes, and why when I'm at my weakest it creeps back in my mind. Maybe I'm insane for thinking so calmly about how I'll die or what will happen. I don't wish to, I don't think. And people who kill themselves most likely look for the easy way out. Death seems easy enough, but it can also be scary. I'm scared to find out how you die, but at the same time, I feel curious. Is this a bad sign?
Death can either be a sorrow or relief, but I feel like there's more to it. Even if simply killing youself is the answer, its a horrible way to die. If I said I wished I wonder what death is like, would you call me crazy? To die is the end of everything. So why do I feel that death isn't so bad after all?

Death will be different. I don't know what death will be like, nobody does, but it has to be different, and a change may be best. Perhaps we get to go to a big meadow, surrounded by trees, sometimes the sun shines, sometimes it rains. It's not a problem, don't worry.

I agree with Jonathan Lawley. There is nothing wrong with you.

Death is a natural part of us. It's not strange to think about it. Heck, I've thought about it plenty myself. But angel and laugh are right. God has prepared a place for each of us in heaven, we just need to accept it, look forward to it, and strive for it. Also, Death is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Be curious about the wonderful things in life so that when death comes you've lived well enough to accept it.
Girl In Disguise

Death itself may not be horrible, but the worst part is all the living you'll miss out on. Instead of wondering all the time about what people would do when you're gone, you'd know the answer if you worked to become closer to them.
Girl In Disguise

God has prepared a place for us in Heaven after we die. But remember our birth & death are in Gods hands. To take our own life will not allow us into heaven.God has a purpose for every person.Ask him to reveal your purpose. He loves you and wants the best for you.The people u would leave behind would be in pain forever.
angel

I wonder the same thing. It isn't so bad. And your curiousity isn't a bad thing. Just believe that when you're ready to experience that curious world of death, you'll experience the truth. :) Just hold on and lov e the world around you.
Pandamander

I'm looking foward to death cause I'm going to heaven :D
laugh

Maybe because you've never actually felt like you needed to, to make other people happy. Wait until that point in your life. It won't be so 'curious' then.
